Star singer Onoyum Mbuk aka Iyanya has been accused of lying after he reportedly told fans on Instagram of his new endorsement deal with Chinese gadget manufacturing company, Lenovo.
4 days ago, the singer said ““New Product!!! New
Ambassador!!! Brand Ambassador!!!! Lenovo!!!! Iyanya!!!! Task Direct 2014 Started #triplemg’.”
To further mess him up, his manager Ubi Franklin confirmed the fake endorsement deal.
‘It’s true, it cost about N150 to N170 million and the duration is for 24 months’” – said Ubi Franklin
A call made to Lenovo headquarter in South Africa revealed the opposite. Lenovo SA transferred the call to a representative in Nigeria named Olumide who said he doesn’t have a clue who Iyanya is.
‘I can’t really say on that. I don’t know anything; I don’t know who he is. Honestly, I don’t know anything, maybe you should call him and ask him yourself’, Olumide told our correspondent
over the telephone.”
If care is not taken, this singer might lose his endorsement deals in Nigeria.
Earlier in the year, Nollywood actress Chika Ike charged the atmosphere in the entertainment industry when she travelled to Abu Dhabi for vacation and kept many tongues wagging. Chika
is like the proverbial cat with nine lives as she’s grappling with a failed marriage which has not prevented her from exploring her talents. She started as a model, then ventured into business
with her outfit called Fancy Nancy.
The Anambra born actress has let go of her ‘aggressive hubby’ and her failed marriage and has moved on with her life and career.
In this recent interview with Christian Agadibe, the actress talks about lessons she learnt from her first marriage and other issues.
Has Chika found love again?
That is private. I don’t like too much publicity. When it is about to happen then my fans will know.
What lessons did you learn from your previous marriage?
I have learnt to be patient and that there’s a limit to everything. I have also learnt that I deserve the best and no one should make me feel better than who I am. I’ve also learnt to forgive and let go.
If you had an opportunity to reconcile with your ex-husband would you ?
No, I won’t. He’s in the past and I don’t want to go back to him. I have forgiven him and let go. I don’t want to talk about my past.
How do you handle your male fans?
Everybody wants to date me, marry me, be my best friend, etc but I just have to draw a line and respect myself. What kind of man would you like to settle down with? The key is happiness. I dont want to say a God fearing, kind, lovely, tall man etc.
Those are clichés. I just need someone who will understand me and make me happy.
EFCC officials have arrested a graduate of the University of Ibadan for the brutal murder of an Australian grandmother.
28-year-old Orowo Jesse Omokoh who was previously wanted in connection with the death of Jette Jacobs after defrauding her of $90,000 in an online dating scam was picked up last week by Economic and Financial Crimes
According to EFCC, Omokoh was caught on the 28th of January at an undisclosed location.
“The UI undergraduate will soon be brought before a court for extradition proceedings”, said EFCC spokesperson.
Omokoh met his 67-year-old victim on an Australian online dating site and started a sizzling romance that required him moving to South Africa last year to link up with his newly
found grandma lover.
The suspect got to Johannesburg in South Africa on the 4th of February 2013 to meet Jacob who had been waiting for him since November of the previous year.
Just 5 days after Omokoh’s arrival at Jacob’s residence, she was found murdered in her apartment with some of her valuables missing.
Omokoh reportedly fled to Nigeria after killing her.
“The South African police, which is investigating the mysterious death, are suspicious that Omokoh has a hand in the demise of Jacobs,” the EFCC said.
The 67-year-old widow from Western Australia sent tens of thousands of dollars to her 28-year-old lover in Nigeria during their 4-year romance period.
They first met in Johannesburg in 2010 with no incident.
Jacob’s corpse was discovered on the 9th of February with obvious signs of trauma.
EFCC said the suspect’s confession has given them enough information to track down his partners in crime.
