Plane Crashed At Ikeja Lagos: 17 Killed After Associated Airlines Aircraft Crash Landed At MMA2 Airport

The residents of Ikeja Lagos woke up to a shocking news this morning after a plane carrying 22 people to the burial of late Olusegun Agagu crashed shortly after take off from Ikeja Lagos International Airport.
According to FAAN officials, the corpse of ex-Ondo Governor Olusegun Agagu who died last month was being conveyed to his final resting place when the Associated Airlines Aircraft
carrying them crashed in Lagos this morning.
According to local rescuers, the only son of the deceased, Mr Feyi Agagu, The honorable commissioner for Culture & Tourism, Deji Falae and Layi Daji, a staff of the Governor’s office were on board of the crashed plane.
Tunji Okusanja Junior and his dad Tunji Okusanja were also on board . Okunsanja Jr died in the plane crash while his father who is currently unconscious sustained severe injuries.
The Okusanjas own MIC Caskets, a popular funeral undertakers in Lagos Island. One Chijioke, an employee of MIC was also killed in the Lagos plane crash.
According to sources on scene, late Feyi Agagu’s corpse had been transferred to the Nigerian Airforce base.
Report from FAAN (Federal Airports Authority of Nigeria) revealed that 17 out of the passengers of the crashed Associated Airlines died while 5 others sustained serious injuries.
The aircraft belonging to Associated Airline crashed at the domestic wing of the Murtala Muhammad Airport (MMA2) in Lagos.
The plane said to have been carrying 20 passengers to Akure from Lagos Thursday morning, crashed immediately after take
off on the joint users fuel hydrant, which supplies aviation fuel to airline operators.
What a sad day for Lagosians especially the Agagu family who just lost another loved one.
May the souls of the departed rest in peace and may God grant the affected families the fortitude to bear the loss of their beloved.
